Dear all,
As some of you might remember, I ran a survey on design practice and creativity (results forthcoming).
One of the conclusions is that designers tend not to use formal methods.
Though the majority of respondents in this survey were graphic designers, I was surprised to find that even product designers haven't heard about such things as axiomatic design, TRIZ, integral design, etc.
Hence my following question to all of you who have a role in teaching designers:
—To what extent are formal design methods included in your undergraduate design curricula?
By "formal" I mean methods that have some kind of verifiable documented formulation, such as scholarly articles or books.
Thank you in advance,
