Thanks for the question. Admittedly I've been a bit elusive about the Jiscmail
registration system. The reason is that I have to individually approve requests that
go through that route. With the Google doc I can just cut and paste all the email
addresses and fling everyone into the Jiscmail system together using the
administration interface. Much easier! Also pleasingly God-like. So for now, if you
don't mind, could you just direct people to that? http://goo.gl/PvYu97
The Google doc will work for anyone who's been given the link. It's just set not to
appear in any online search results, so it's reasonably secure - and nobody's email
address will be on the page for more than a day anyway, as I'll be regularly
transferring them over to Jiscmail.
Once the initial new member surge is over, I'll say more about the Jiscmail
registration system.
