Sent on behalf of the Editors of Transitions in Undergraduate Mathematics Education (with apologies for any cross-posting):
To coincide with the recent publication of Transitions in Undergraduate Mathematics Education, the University of Birmingham is hosting a Launch and staff development event on Wednesday, 25th March 2015 to explore some of the material covered by the book. The event will begin with lunch at 12 noon and will conclude at 4.30pm.
The authors of the chapters relating to lecturing, feedback on assessments, developing independent learners, using problem solving and creating accessible learning environments will each be running an interactive workshop.
The programme for the event is now available here:
http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/Documents/college-eps/college/stem/150325-Transitions-programme.pdf
Although we believe that the event will be valuable for all who are involved in teaching mathematics in higher education, it will be particularly relevant to those who are relatively new to such teaching.
There is no charge for participation in the event and each delegate will receive a complimentary copy of the book. However, to assist with administrative arrangements, colleagues are asked to register with Daryl Davies ([log in to unmask]).
We hope that you will share this with interested colleagues and encourage them to attend.
