medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I think it has to do with a sense of misplaced apology--there are so many in-jokes about musicians, especially drummers and viola players, that we probably feel we don't have anything serious to say or that if we do, no-one's going to take us seriously. I'm a singer (who can sort of play the viola), therefore I can only count up to four.
But biochemistry? Cor blimey! I think any science is pretty wonderful. It's a pity my old biology at school thought that the arts and sciences were mutually exclusive, otherwise she wouldn't have pulled a face when I said I wanted to do Art and Chemistry because I thought it might be worthwhile to to into art restoration. Meh.
Best,
Sarina.
