Hi everyone
I know many of you subscribe to Public Libraries News via email. Please note that the sender now shows up as "Wordpress" and not myself. This is causing problems with some inboxes as it means updates may be going into your junk folder. I'm working to see how to solve this but, in the meantime, at least you know the problem.
For those of you who don't subscribe to Public Libraries News, please may I take this opportunity to mention to you that subscribing is free and is available via the side bar on www.publiclibrariesnews.com. Each post summarises any changes to public libraries in the UK, all national media mentions of libraries, a selection of key international news and news for each UK library authority. It's used by all the national media and, from what I can tell, a substantial portion of library managers. The website gets regular media coverage, such as being mentioned in the House of Commons just last week.
I'll also mention that, although I try to read collate all media mentions of public libraries in the UK, I really appreciate emails with your news, press releases and thoughts. Sometimes, too, the media or me gets it wrong so do let me know of any corrections via [log in to unmask]
Anyway, that's enough of your time. Have a good day my library friends.
Regards
Ian Anstice

“Keep up the good work, your blog is hugely valuable. I think libraries, like playing fields, long suffered from always being a local fight, without anyone talking about the national picture.” Jane Mackenzie, Reporter, Private Eye (October 2013).
“a really essential resource for anyone interested in the future of public libraries.” Boyd Tonkin of the Independent (September 2011)
“Public Libraries News continues to be a fantastically useful resource for keeping up to date with debate and news” Carnegie UK Trust (February 2014)
