Hello, not certain this is going to be relevant for you but a possible work around is:
- talk to publisher and agree on a single username/password for access to the electronic version to be shared with people in your institution
Generally, I find that publishers are happy to agree on institutional access provided a subscription is paid for by the library
- establish a link (title of the journal) in your catalogue or webpage
- when users click the title they are asked to log into the resource with their normal username/password (Athens or LDAP authentication usually)
- they land on a page with the username/password on it & a link to the resource (which then asks them for the username/password)

Aspire…to an easier way of managing your reading lists

Create your reading list online, linking students directly to recommended resources. Visit the University’s Aspire webpages or book on a workshop.

For the best of that pop, whether folk or jazz or blues or the rock n’ roll that was all rebellion, is always first and last about freedom – where ‘about’ connotes both ‘to speak of’ and ‘to work towards’ and where freedom means freedom from the muting cingula of circumstances, forces, norms. For early rock, these norms were most often generational, the forces ideological – a person of the mind that the Young Democrat or teen heard, finally felt in the music was escapable… simply because the music was the escape. – Signifying Rappers, DF Wallace

Dear colleagues

Here at Middlesex, we aim to go online only for journals provision. For some months now, we have been trying to get online access set up for Midwives magazine and Evidence-Based Midwifery, both published by Redactive for Royal College of Midwives. It appears that institutional online access is not available, although an individual subscriber receives online access as part of their subscription.

I was wondering of anyone out there has had more success or found a workaround for this - we really don't want to go back to having print subscriptions, having successfully moved to online only for almost all Health and Education titles.

We are aware that many issues are available for reading online through Issuu, but we are looking for the full functionality of an online sub so users can download and print. Has anyone achieved this or do we just keep pestering Redactive?

Many thanks

Best wishes
Kathy
