PERMANENT POSITION - GEOLOGIST / TEAM LEADER
The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) is seeking to appoint a qualified
bedrock geologist. This position is currently also assigned the role as
team leader for Bedrock geology for a period of 4 years including the
possibility of an extension.
The position requires a MSc- and/or PhD-degree in geology. We emphasize
relevant experience with geological mapping and research, including a
proven ability to initiate and complete R&D projects. As team leader you
will be part of NGU's management team, and therefore management
experience is required.
We are looking for a resourceful person who is result-oriented and has
the ambition to lead staff and develop NGU as an organization. A
leader's tasks and responsibilities include planning and coordinating
resources, budgeting and control of project activities, and development
of the team's staff members. The appointee must thrive in creating
extraordinary results through leading others, and be able to contribute
actively to developing a good working environment. The broad scope of
NGU's geoscientific activities demands excellent cooperation and
communication skills, both internally and in relation to external
partners. You are expected to speak and write well in both the Norwegian
and English language.

Salary for this position will be according to government regulations, as
follows:
* Scientist with a MSc (code 1108) on payscale 47-71, corresponding to
NOK 409 400-627 900 gross per year.
* Scientist with a PhD (code 1109) on payscale 57-77, corresponding to
NOK 482 500-710 100 gross per year.
* Scientist with professor qualification (code 1183) on payscale 69-101,
normally paid in the range 69-79, corresponding to NOK 601 400-756 200
gross per year.
