Does "here here!" mean "just a minute, there", or "'allo, 'allo, what's
this 'ere then?"
Or, does it mean ... that you "hear" something in my response that agrees
with your comment "we are trapped in the land of poets and poets are best
at revealing what otherwise can not be seen."
I would agree that "it" ... "is a way of being that few can sustain" ...
with "it" meaning the way any person is willing or unwilling to adapt to
what is being received (fed back) from the environment within which that
person has to operate .. aka known as "living".
Metaphors and "big pictures" are all part of the same thing ... all
reverberate back from the "future" towards which it was projected (synonym
for "design" ... or, like the sonar in a submarine, collectively create a
proto-picture of what could be possible), and then what? As David said,
this is still not reality, but then neither is much of what we have to live
through ...
... it could be that as designers we can, much like poets were expected to
be able to do in the past, provide at least some direction for peoples'
lives to evolve towards ... mind tools for a better future. NOT more things
to buy.
