Hi Jean,
I heard about this story from a friend as well and found it rather intriguing. It's on an episode of the 99% Invisible podcast. If you go to their site it is Episode 114, titled Ten Thousand Years. Here’s a link if you’d like to listen to the episode if you haven’t heard it already: http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/ten-thousand-years/ <http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/ten-thousand-years/>
I haven’t journey much farther down this rabbit hole, so not sure just how far it goes as far as evidence, but it maybe a jumping off point.
Hope this helps!
Best,
Terri

The issue was about the information system and signage for a landfill that should contain long life (> thousands of years) radioactive waste.
