He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was himself using poetic license.
It would be preposterous to talk about absolutes, especially on this list, where people who so much as hint at it get immediately burned at the stake. I myself got slightly grilled just by saying that a rock breaks a window pane.
As I read it, this line of reasoning forwards the need for metaphor and for creative behaviour as a counterbalance to rationality. I happen to agree with this. And I think this doesn't counter those limitations you point at (and I also agree with those). What I do think is that metaphor and creative behaviour can (and eventually will) be modelled and replicated in other forms, other than human I mean.
