[apologies for cross postings]
The final workshop of the DML project (Digital Music Lab - Analysing Big
Music Data) will take place at the British Library on Friday, 13 March
2015.
The DML project combines audio processing technologies, visualisation,
and access to large music collections, in order to facilitate a Big Data
approach to music analysis and musicological research (see
http://dml.city.ac.uk).
The workshop will include presentations and demos of project outputs, as
well as a hands-on guided exploration, in which the project’s analysis
and visualisation tools will be used by participants and applied to
relevant large-scale music collections (including the British Library’s
Sound Archive).
Musicological insights obtained by applying a Big Data approach to these
collections will be shared and discussed.
The workshop will start at 10am (9am for registration and coffee) and
finish at 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Please note that spaces are limited and registration is therefore
obligatory.
