medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi Cecilia,
I did some work years ago on funeral liturgies for the canons regular, and the bad news is that there was no set "Augustinian" liturgy. They tended to adapt whatever local liturgies were available for their own uses--the ones I looked at used the same funeral liturgies as secular canons from the same town or diocese, but with additions and modifications.
Best, Megan

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear all,
Happy (late) New Year.
Does anyone know where to look to find the liturgy used by the Augustinian Canons in the Middle Ages, preferably in the 11 and 12 centuries? (Office and Mass?)
Thanks
cecilia
