We have at least two invigilators in most exams, so one can come and find us. We also give them a key to our store room in case they need any supplies.
I am happy share my personal mobile number as I don't have a work one, and they use theirs if they need to call or text me at any time. I often text them about various matters, for example for late cover for an exam.
Hope this helps.

I use battery-operated bells, as the exams room are situated all in the corridor opposite my office. They all have different ring tones, so I know what room wants assistance, unless some bright spark here messes about with the room ID labels on them!!
Anyone going to the conference on 4th & 5th February?
Kind Regards

We do the same, use mobiles.
If they ring me my ring tone for invigilators is the Beatles "Help" which makes everyone in the office look up and will answer should I not be able to.

Hi Katherine
Our invigilators text us. We did buy cheap invigilator pay as you go phones (about £20 each) but they prefer to use their own phones. We do have an invigilator phone that they text to, this stays with a member of the exam team (we rota this) and I also have my phone that they can text.
It works :-)
Thanks

Hi
I am interested in finding out how your invigilators communicate with you if there is an issue in an exam. At the moment we use radio's but this often causes alot of noise in the office as our radio picks up other users outside the college.
Any other ideas would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Katherine Mortimer
