Hi Clive,
I think we have representation from Scotland on this group - Neil, Jeremy? The contact in Wales is Jeff Morris, lead Clinical Scientist at the assistive technology service in Rookwood Hospital, I think... Not sure about NI I'm afraid.
Cheers
Simon

Subject: AT services in the NHS
Dear all,
I am preparing a short factsheet for young people with disabilities transitioning to adulthood about assistive technology on behalf of a national charity.
One of the sections discusses the National Health Service's assistive technology services. I am familiar with NHS England's commissioning arrangements which currently explicitly require local provision of wheelchair services, environmental controls, communication aids and prosthetics, as determined by Department of Health on the basis of the recommendations of the Prescribed Specialised Services Advisory Group (PSSAG).
However, I am unsure of the situation in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some of the documentation says that the PSSAG provides 'the same, consistent, advice to NHS England and the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland', but I would like to find of whether its recommendations are applied the same way throughout the UK.
I would be very grateful for any guidance on this.
Many thanks,
Clive
