medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hello everyone
If anyone is working on a medieval canonization process that includes depositions from members of the Franciscan order -- I would particularly like to hear from you concerning the Franciscan witnesses' attitude to miracles. In particular, do Franciscan witnesses show greater circumspection than other religious in the sense of being unwilling to give credence to miracles which they have not seen or proved for themselves? I am working on the Franciscan attitude to Cantilupe's miracles, building on the work of Patrick Daly in the 80s, and I seem to be seeing such an attitude here.
Thank you!
Sue
