We report low prolactin results as < 10 mU/L so we don't see a level of 1 - 9 mU/L.

Hi all,
We have a case of a teenage boy
with a prolactin level of 1. Back in March it was
6. He is currently on Aripriprazole, Paroxetine and
Modafinil.
I
have read that Modafinil can cause a reduction in prolactin
levels, and also that Aripriprazole can reverse
hyperprolactinaemia caused by other
antipsychotics.
Is it likely that these drugs
are the cause of this very low prolactin level? Has
anyone seen this before?Any other possible causes for
such a low level? The other pituitary hormones are
normal.
Many thanks,
Susan
