Dear PHD-DESIGN,
I've been starting to look at the links between academic HCI research and 'practitioner' work in UXD / IxD practice (terminology problems start here). Personally I come at this from the perspective of an academic HCI researcher having done a PhD in HCI / CSCW and having experience in participating in UK / European and US HCI / CSCW research communities.
I'm interested to find out what work has been done that looks at this link (or lack of it? or misconception of it?). As part of this I started a simple webpage list of people of relevance and projects / work that is investigating this problem or working in this area:
http://www.cs.nott.ac.uk/~str/pages/hci-uxd-link.html
I would be really keen to get any comments or suggestions or further information on this topic so as to build this resource as I'm increasingly aware of how little I know about this the more I look at it!
I realise I'm probably making a whole heap of assumptions and glosses at this stage (not to mention a probably ignorance of history) and would be interested to get these critiqued too, so any suggestions on sensible ways to deal with terminology are welcome.
Thanks for reading.
