This collection of PhD theses would be of great help to current doctoral students and other early career researchers. I guess that many of us as research advisers or supervisors hold small collections of exemplar theses and make them available to our students. It is in my view essential that candidates read and review critically several theses in or around their field of study.
There seems little point in helping with such a project unless the result is open source - that is, a permanent repository not behind payment or registration barriers of any kind. If the community is to help with projects like this, there should be assurance that the whole community can benefit freely in future.
I had queried Heico off-list about access to the collection when it comes online. Will access be restricted to 'collaborators' and how are they defined? As this query has also been raised here, I wonder if either Heico or Ken could inform us?
Kind regards
David
