We are reviewing our SOPs in light of requirements of ISO 15189. Analysis of faecal fat globules by microscopy does not fulfill the requirements, e.g. it is a subjective test, false positives and negatives are possible, there is no EQA etc and in our laboratory there is no data on validation of the method.
What are other labs providing this test doing about this? Is it time to stop doing the test?
It would be interesting to hear of the experience of other laboratories.
Thanks.
