There is a grave stone for the manager of Clogau Gold Mine in the churchyard at Constantine Cornwall, he was killed in an accident there, referred to in George Hall's book. Think it was a Capt. Eddy?

Does anyone have any evidence of victims of mine accidents being buried in their home parishes, rather than where the accident happened, in mid 19th Century?
Also, was there a colloquial term for when someone fell from ladders. (Thinking Cornwall mostly – I have heard the term ‘fell away’?)
Many thanks,
Lynne Mayers
