Dear colleagues,
We are starting a transdisciplinary initiative with the theme "Redesign of Society" in the Media Lab of Aalto ARTS, and as our first activity, we launch a study project for the academic year 2014-2015. The project is open to advanced MA and DA/PhD level students, and begins with an intensive 2 week workshop between the 10th and 24th of September 2014, in the Otaniemi campus of Aalto University in Finland.
We can accommodate students from all Finnish universities based on the JOO flexible study system, which allows students to get credits from other universities. However, in the interest of seeding international collaborations within this initiative, we are also interested in considering a small number of students from universities of other countries, especially on the PhD level, who will need to arrange their own travels and accommodations and negotiate the credits with their own home departments themselves.
While we hope that most participants will engage in the whole study project for the whole study year, it is also possible to participate only in the two week intensive workshop. However, the study project will be individually scheduled and groups can collaborate online, so participation in the later phase may be possible also for a remote participant.
The application period is now, the application form is open on our website, and the deadline is September 3rd. Please share this with anyone who might be interested!
The application form and more information about the course can be found here:
