Hi Marko
FieldMove is built on the same platform as Move, so as you have already identified you need a 64bit machine to run things properly. The cheap Windows and Android tablets simply don't have enough horsepower to run the full 3D capability that sits inside Move. If you've read any of the previous threads you will have seen my comment that we regard the pc version of FieldMove as yesterdays' technology and we are working on a new platform for Touchscreen devices. The latest iPads are all 64 bit machines.
The ability to link your smartphone to your tablet via Bluetooth has been on our wishlist for some time, but if we are going to include this then it will be based around the new digital mapping tool, not the old pc version of FieldMove.
Cheers

The idea of FieldMove as a lightweight field version of Move (and hearing that MVE is actually producing it for the cause and not for
profit) is certainly great, kudos to MVE. The new breed of cheap and lightweight Windows-based 8" to 10" tablets seems an excellent (and
disposable) choice for field work, and the Intel Atom processor which they normally use provides much longer battery time.
However, in our experience FieldMove is really slow on those machines, or indeed on anything that is not a high-end machine like the Surface Pro. We were also disappointed that the 2014 version fo FieldMove is 64 bit only - many of the small tablets come with Win 8 32 bit and with 2 GB of RAM, so we're currently stuck with 2013 version of the software.
I really, really like the field-geologist-centric design of FieldMove, but would really want to see it being made feasible to run on cheap Windows tablets, which even students increasingly own. I know it's a difficult bet to make as the trends are changing quickly - who knows whether Windows tablets will prevail against Android and Ipad ones - but for us the possibility to run other Windows apps on our field machines apps is a big bonus.
One other idea: would it be possible to tether FieldMoveClino running on a cell phone to a FieldMove on a Windows tablet via the Bluetooth connection? Not all tablets have orientation sensors and their form-factor is not neccessarily practical for making orientation measurements - so I envisioned having the cell phone as the electronic geological compass which would wirelessly feed measurements to FieldMove on Windows tablet.
Best regards, Marko
