Hi, this sounds interesting! How is this done? I just tried but I cannot
find this function...
One more suggestion: I might be wrong but you're missing a combined data
type for fault kinematics, like dip azimut/dip/pitch, dip
azimut/dip/rake or dip azimut/dip/slip vector trend/slip vector plunge.
I suggest rake in Aki and Richards format, but this is just a personal
preference. Another useful possibility would be to add custom fields
that can be used e.g. for joint aperture, mineralization, fault rocks,
mineral assemblages, etc.
Another feature that I really like is the possibility to georeference
your measurements with the built in GPS (this works very well!) and show
them on a map. So... which are the options to (1) import external maps
and store them for off-line use (very often you have poor or no
connection in the field), and (2) edit them (e.g. shapefile or move format).
Final question, if you would like to use your traditional compass and
FieldClino just for recording data, showing them on a map, editing the
map, and plotting/analysing data, maybe an android tablet (cheaper) or
ipad is better than a phone, correct? Comments on this?
Many thanks,
andrea
