Dear Film Philosophers (of the UK, realistically),
On Thursday 4 September BFI Southbank will host a panel discussion on
Raymond Durgnat, who was among other things a pioneer of film
philosophy (he was writing about Deleuze in 1971):

The discussion, chaired by Geoff Andrew and featuring Lucy Reynolds,
Tony Rayns, and me, will be followed by a screening of Franju's
'Judex'. Copies of the soon-to-be-published 'The Essential Raymond
Durgnat' will be available.
All the best
