I received a query about whether giving patients oral nitrate supplementation (beetroot juice) would interfere with any biochemistry tests.
One of our clinicians is performing a study and the ethics committee thought they should include a warning to the GP that this might alter the result of biochemical tests. However they could not be specific about which tests.
Does anyone know if beetroot juice interferes with the results of any common biochemistry tests?
Thanks in advance for any help
Helen
