I was wondering if anyone could recommend a substantive treatment of the history of user-centered design in terms of the impact it had on business practices. So, not a description of paradigm shifts WITHIN design so much as an examination of the paradigm shift in industry.
More recently we see the initiation of a paradigm shift around "design thinking." I can find literature on that, but it seems curiously difficult to find a history of user-centered design in terms of its impact on business.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
