Music for Audio-Visual Media (MAViM) Conference

DEADLINE FOR EARLY-BIRD REGISTRATION: Friday 25 July 2014.
The MAViM conference features a keynote presentation by Professor Claudia Gorbman (University of Washington, Tacoma), an interview with film and television composer Trevor Jones, and paper sessions on topics including:
- audio-visual aesthetics
- video game music
- the film and television music of Trevor Jones
- contemporary practices in audio-visual music
- music as an extra-narrative device
- pre-existing music in film
- television music
- audio-visual analysis
- compositional approaches
- Classic Hollywood
Delegates may move freely between the MAViM conference and the RMA annual conference including the RMA keynote addresses, and details of all sessions can be found on the MAViM website, trevorjonesfilm.leeds.ac.uk/conference.
Early-bird registration (£50/£30) ends on Friday 25 July, after which higher conference fees will apply (see the website for prices). There will be a conference dinner on the evening of Friday 5 September, and details of great will be available via the conference website in due course.
