Dear Cynthia, Bridget, Teena and Don,
Thanks for advising us about this issue, which we are fully aware.
As we mentioned in our communication, the list of keynotes and that of
chairs are still open, and we are waiting for some further confirmations
(including those from female professors). The existing open list is not
the result of our personal choices but rather depending on the
confirmation we have received till now. It happened that we have already
got confirmation from 4 male professors. Meanwhile, we are actively
contacting some female scholars.
We are pleased to let you know that, as for the chairs for the afternoon
sessions, Prof. SUN Xiaohua is a female professor from the College of
Design and Innovation of Tongji. Also, we have received some feedback from
scholars who are interested in co-chairing some session. Some of them are
female contributors too.
We are sorry if this has given rise to certain doubts due to the
inadequacy in our communication. In our university both male and female
professors are equally balanced, and the guest professors and researchers
involved in our conferences have always been representative of
cultural/gender/approach diversity.
Sure that we will be back to you with a complete list of contributors we
are looking forward to receiving proposals for this interesting conference
about ¡°Emerging Practices¡±.
