Dear Colleagues,
The concepts of the qualitative and the quantitative are actually umbrella terms for two major classes of research paradigms that have emerged and are (predominantly) supported either in the Humanities or in the Sciences. With the advent of Deconstruction, paradigms that for centuries have been "native" to the Humanities have penetrated into the social sciences and have created new epistemological challenges. You can call it the Humanities turn, if you like.
The whole conversation might take a completely different turn if we conceptualize design methodology in terms of paradigms. Then the relationships and the interactions will be seen in a new light and actually, very differently from what we do now.
Just a few ideas.
Best wishes,
Lubomir
