Dear All,
My apologies … I did not note in the last email that the reference to La Clusaz was a reference to the La Clusaz conference on Doctoral Education in Design that David Durling and I organised and convened under the aegis of the Design Research Society.
Anders Skoe was responsible for the meeting and documentation process.
At any rate, this was 15 years ago … Terry Love was a participant, so he should have heard those of us who spoke about design in terms of problem space, solution space, and choice.
Those who have not seen the conference proceedings my find it valuable for other reasons:
Durling, David and Ken Friedman, editors. 2000. Doctoral Education in Design. Foundations for the Future. Proceedings of the La Clusaz Conference, July 8-12, 2000. Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom: Staffordshire University Press.
Yours,
Ken
