Keynote speakers: Peter Holman (University of Leeds) and John Bryan (University of Huddersfield)
Including a performance by Susanna Pell (viola da gamba) exploring the music collection and compositions of Philip Falle (1656-1742), amateur musician and prebendary of Durham Cathedral.
This study day, focussing on amateur musicians of the Western Art Music tradition to 1900, aims to explore the role music played in British provincial culture.
