Dear All
I am sure there are many among you who may have considered this and can recommend an app or two. Getting people to enhance or elaborate images on iPads, either photographs or artworks, so that they can use / adapt / embellish an artist's original.
I am still in the early stages of investigating the most useful app for such enhancement / sketching - any suggestions much appreciated - one recommendation has been 'Drawcast' it's easy to use (and its free). You can draw straight onto the IPad using Drawcast. The app also gives you the choice of importing a photo (or any kind of image) from your Photo Album. When you've finished your drawing you save it back to the photo album. From there you could email it to a Mac for editing/ cleaning up and printing etc. You can draw onto existing photographs - email them to an iPad so they're stored in the Photo Album. From there it's easy to import into Drawcast.
We are looking at the possibilities of encouraging the use of tablets (not just iPads) not just in galleries or museums, but out in the field (possibly at the point at which the original was photographed / painted etc.).
We are interested in any examples where this has worked already, and to explore the permissions angles too - what are the limits of what can be deemed educational use etc.
Apologies for any cross posting.
Many thanks, Andrew
