All,
We’ve seen much debate on the lists re users using mains sockets to charge mobile devices - and seem to come to no universal conclusion.
But how about users using public computers USB ports to charge mobile devices - acceptable or not? In some circumstances or not?
If the public computers are on, the USB port will probably be delivering power - so if a user does this and hasn't booked a session, is this OK?
It isn't using mains power, so there is probably no H&S/PAT issue - but they may be blocking the computer for a user who wants it for the 'intended purposes'. Acceptable or not? And If there is no-one else waiting to use the computer?
But they could book a session just for the power and make no use of the computing - is that then an acceptable use of that computer?
Any views?
Regards
JU
