Dear Terry
You close your post saying:
"Recognising the differences in the two perspectives and how people use
them
seems like it might be useful in avoiding misunderstandings."
I think, beyond just 'recognizing' the difference(s) between the
human-centered approach and the 'universe', i.e. material approach, which
is a necessary initial step by the way, it is about time now we (re) start
learning how to 'summon' both (re Bruno Latour) into making life on earth
better than it is. That is the overall 'doing' I meant in my previous post,
and not the merely limited, yet necessary, way of technicians/craftspersons
as hinted at in Ken's last post.
Do Pratchett, Stewart and Cohen show the way to do the summoning and
instruct the artifacts cases? In the affirmative, right away I am ordering
a copy of their publication!
Thanks for the lead and best regards
Francois
