We've always used just the 1MA0F or 1MA0H as the sole entry code, not entered any component codes. Never any issues. The basedata gives us the timetable so again, no issues.

Great...a subtle change in practice, but nevertheless a change they didn't think to inform us of! I have just checked the info manual and it has definitely changed from previous years - there are now 2 cash-ins, 1MA0F and 1MA0H rather than 1 cash-in and 2 options. Grrrrrr I wish they would be clear about these things!!!

Hi Sarah
And Thank you David for pointing this out. I have just double checked our entries as we too have made them using the cash in plus the higher tier code, as this is the first year of entry. I have now had to email Edexcel to get them corrected!
You do as suggested on earlier post only have to enter the foundation or higher code, forget the 'cash in'!

This is really interesting David. We have our own in-house MIS system and as far as I know we submit 1MA0 for our entries but use 'components' 1MA0F or 1MA0H too so that it shows on our timetables. I am not aware of any problems with entering via 1MA0. Are Edexcel suggesting that entries are made using F and H?

Subject: UnitE and GCSE Maths Entries for Edexcel
Good morning
We submitted our GCSE Maths using the Cash-in 1MAO and either the 1MAOF or 1MAOH units in good time, the same as we did last year with no issues. We have now (since we discovered discrepancies) been advised by Edexcel data centre that we should not have used the cash -in as it defaults everything to Foundation - and their system does not read the subsequent files that specify H or F.
Has anyone come across this please as we are now working with Edexcel to effect a "repair" involving 575 candidates?
Really stressed - did I miss something?
