Hi again Mickey
The relationship between distributed agency and emergence is clear and easy to follow, but I'm curious as to how you relate distributed agency to the key realist explanatory frameworks of context / mechanism / outcome?
Cheers
Gill

Hi, Gill.
Your post reminds me of the term distributed agency. I'd heard of distributed cognition, so I framed distributed agency as analogous to distributed cognition in my initial reading. (But that might not be advisable, I don't know--smile.)
This book chapter appears to discuss distributed cognition in relation to interactive emergence: http://goo.gl/NB2rT3
In case the link does not work:
Garud, R., & Karnøe, P. (2005). Distributed Agency and Interactive Emergence. In S. W. Floyd, J. Roos, C. D. Jacobs, & F. W. Kellermanns (Eds.), Innovating Strategy Process. (pp. 88-96).
Whether this adds to the discussion or not, I don't know! (LOL). But thank you for your post. It is good to reflect on these things.
