medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear John, Jane and everyone,
Thank you. Wonderful and fascinating set of references / links.
My questions are answered
1. There is no recorded family name for W of R.
2. His canonisation was a local, not a papal matter and he is now only
commemorated as a saint by the Anglican Cistercians.
3. His date of death was either 2 or 3 August in 1143 or 5.
4. My guess as to his dob / age is as good as anyone elses!
Happy New Year to you all, and enjoy Twelfth Night / Feast of the Epiphany
in style when it comes!
Brenda,
from a sodden, windswept south of England.
