A reminder that there is a Linked Data version of SHIC available, e.g.:
http://data.modes.org.uk/Termlist/SHIC_termlist/id/1.846
or to search it:
http://data.modes.org.uk/Termlist/SHIC_termlist/search/?q=war
which could help to make shared/pooled SHIC-based data more interoperable.

This may be a result of my ignorance, but since I'm keen to improve the collections data and assets we're releasing about this period, I'd like to know if there any existing subject indexes that we could use.
The "long, long trail" website [1] contains a number of reference
resources, such as a list of battles [2], a detailed chronology of
events [3] and a list of British Army units [4]. Resources like these
would make tremendously useful shared points of reference across
projects, if they were available as Linked Data.
Does anyone have WW1 reference resources of any kind which are actually
being shared across/between projects? If not, we might be said to be
commemorating WW1 by re-living it: uncoordinated and separate attacks on
the problem which briefly gain ground but which can't be joined together
or sustained long-term [5, esp. the Northern Pincer].
