medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Monday's ODNB Life of the Day was C. S. L. Davies and John Edwards'
biography of Katherine [Catalina, Catherine, Katherine of Aragon]
(1485-1536), queen of England, first consort of Henry VIII.
In case you think it strange I suggest she might be of interest to this
list, I reckon she can probably be regarded as our last medieval queen. Her
life is of interest not only for her marriage but also for the place of the
queen in the nation's religion and also her own piety and devotion to the
Observant Franciscans.
