"Re-engaging with the Common Good through education for sustainable development (ESD)", is the second in a in a London-wide discussion series on Political Action and Education for Sustainability.
It will take place at London South Bank University LSBU (Room B232, Borough Road Building, Borough Road SE1) on Friday 6 December 2013, 4.30-6.30 pm.
Dr Lorna Down, a senior lecturer in Education in the School of Education, The University of the West Indies, will be the key speaker at this event presented by the London RCE (Regional Centre of Expertise) on ESD in association with the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research at LSBU.
One of the pioneers of the MESCA (Mainstreaming Environment and Sustainability in Caribbean universities) movement, Dr Down is also co-chair of the Caribbean Network of Teacher Educators for Sustainability. Her research areas include embedding ESD in the curriculum, linking community to academia and Literature, Language and Teacher Education.
The event will end with a networking drinks reception.
