Dear List Members,
Last year you collectively gave me great support in developing a
reading list for the research students in Innovation Design
Engineering at London's Royal College of Art. It was rewarding and
very valuable to have a collection of suggested readings that came
not from me, but from a multiplicity of sources. We got a much more
widely based reading list that I could ever have produced by myself.
I sent you all the suggestions I got, together with the full 3 year
seminar titles 3 weeks ago.
I would like to ask your help again. I am, as before, looking for
suggestions (of course, including your own work) for this theme:
"How to write (a paper); + What makes a good reviewer/ examiner,
reviewing papers/ examining theses"
Ideally suggestions will be about 3000 words in length. Please send a
copy, if possible, and also a reference for tracing and a url if
possible. Please don't send too many suggestions for fear of flooding
us: one piece would be ideal, but if you feel strongly that you might
want to include a couple more, that would be fine. I need this
material in the next couple of weeks for distribution to the students
before the end of the month.
Thank you very much for helping with this. I am convinced that this
collaborative effort is not only what lists like this should do, but
provides a much more interesting reading list than I, or perhaps any
of us, could create.
Best Wishes,
Ranulph
