Terry, Kevin, Jude, : With all due respect to Kevin's work what he is talking about is not what we are focused on for this book.
As per my previous clarifications here, as soon as there is a presumption up front that an experience, or a product or service is required and will be an outcome this is not what we are looking for in The OTHER Design Thinking book. There are other books focused on experience design, product design etc.
Of course there are always benefits of anyone experiencing any design journey. We are well aware and side benefits in skill and change of perception are not the primary focus of this book.
Regarding your question Terry, it seems likely that several forms of practice exist with participatory cocreation involving multiple disciplines playing significant roles as challenges scale. As you well know multiple stakeholders are central to most challenges that exist in Design 3 and 4.
