Thanks David, as we are not reviewing the design but the designing, or rather the collaborative interactions, I guess that may not be so relevant.
Luckily it's rather simpler to recognise "good" interaction between people than "good" design. I like Ian Gwilt's observation, as the only graphic designer in the room, when we were asked to comment on possible ideas for the University's new branding scheme. Having to leave early and feeling some moral pressure to make a contribution he remarked that "Comic Sans is very popular".
If you are looking for reliable design knowledge that's hard to beat.
