We are looking for an external website evaluation company to carry out a focused piece of evaluation work to help inform planned improvements to our new Hampshire's Big Theme 1914 website which will take place in late December / early January 2014.
We require the evaluation to be undertaken as soon as possible.
Interested parties should submit a proposal that includes costs and schedule for completion of the work required and details of their experience of undertaking this type of work by email to Linda Ellis, [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by no later than 9am Monday 18 November 2013.
Background
Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council and Winchester City Council have been working together since 2010 to develop the profile of our cultural services. Areas of collaboration include tourism marketing, collections stewardship, online developments and quality public programming. This year the partnership is launching a programme of activities that will commemorate the centenary of the First World War which includes:
* Soldiers' Journey - a multi venue exhibition exploring Hampshire's unique contribution to the First World War
* The Artists Rifles - an exhibition, touring three venues in Hampshire, showcasing the work of soldiers from the Artist Rifles regiment
* Trench Coat - a contemporary exhibition showing at the Winchester Discovery Centre exploring the iconic trench coat and its connections with Hampshire
* A commissioned contemporary art installation in Winchester's Great Hall by Susie MacMurray
* The Hampshire's Big Theme 1914 website - www.bigtheme.org.uk<http://www.bigtheme.org.uk>
The 1914 website showcases related items from the partners' collections, provides previews and trailers of the forthcoming exhibitions, as a well as an events calendar publicising First World War related events taking place in arts, museums and other cultural organisations across Hampshire.
Evaluation Work Required
The evaluation we wish to undertake will focus on the usability of the website and involve a limited number (no more than five) face to face interviews of users to identify any issues with the website.
We require the evaluation to be undertaken as soon as possible. The key deliverable will be a document that clearly describes the process used, the perceptions of the users and any suggested changes that would improve the website.
