Denise,
All our Apo E genotypes are processed in the Regional Genetics Lab in Belfast Trust - they report as either compatible or not compatible with Type III hyperlipidaemia.
Best wishes
Peter

Subject: Apo E genotype reporting
Hi
Could I check how the labs which run ApoE genotyping for patients with suspected type III hyperlipoproteinaemia report the results, in particular do you give the full genotype or limit it to whether or not they are E2 homozygous/heterozygous?
Also do any labs have specific comments regarding E4 or Alzheimers on the order comms for apo E (prior to test being requested rather just on the report) ?
Many thanks
Denise
