From your error message I would guess that you don't have X11 running on your Mac. If you are running the program from Apple's terminal program it could be simply that the display variable isn't being set. The quickest way of setting it is just to use a xterm (which can be started from within apple's X11) instead.

Subject: Problem with starting analysis
Hi all,
Very confused and absolutely desperate postdoc with limited experience in using previous version of CCPN and who is absolute virgin in programming and using all these Pythons and Linux needs help.
I installed new version of program (2.3) but have some problems. We set a correct path in analysis but when I try to run this program from the terminal, I get the following message:
Model read finished. Duration 1.41743206978 Model validity check skipped Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/rova/programsforMac/ccpnmr/ccpnmr2.3/python/ccpnmr/analysis/AnalysisGui.py", line 226, in <module>

root = Tkinter.Tk()
File "/Users/rova/programsforMac/ccpnmr/python2.6/lib/python2.6/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 1643, in __init__
self.tk = _tkinter.create(screenName, baseName, className, interactive, wantobjects, useTk, sync, use)
_tkinter.TclError: no display name and no $DISPLAY environment variable
Path in analysis was set correctly to /Users/rova/programsforMac/ccpnmr
Your advice can save me from insanity.
