All,
Would be wonderful if you could all share our competitions with teachers/any one interested.
The Physiological Society has two competitions planned for Biology Week to celebrate Physiology Friday!
Our first competition is aimed at schools, and is open to under 17’s. Pupils are challenged to write a fun poem on the topic of digestion, they just need to follow on from our verse:
Apples and pears, pizza’s and pies,
The food that we eat is fuel for our lives.
But there’s something that happens, that stops congestion
It’s this little thing, it’s called digestion…
The submission form can be found on our website: http://www.physoc.org/physiology-friday-ode-digestion
The prize for the winning entry will be a Kindle Fire Tablet, and a visit from The Mobile Teaching Unit http://www.physoc.org/mobile-teaching-unit.
Our second competition, you can all have a go at, as its open to everyone!
It’s a creative tweet competition, we will be accepting entries throughout Biology Week (12th -18th), you just have to tweet a physiology rhyme @ThePhySoc
For example tweet, apologies for my poor rhyme, hopefully you can do better.
@ThePhySoc Munch, Munch, now digestive juices flow, into the stomach they go, from the walls they secrete, to break down all we eat
The winning tweet will receive a GIANTmicrobes Brain neuron toy.
Spread the word and join in!
Anisha
