Stanford University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering invites
applications for tenure-track faculty positions in product design, at all
levels. We are primarily interested in applicants who will perform
design research
and teach design classes at the intersections of technology, business, and
behavioral science.
For more information, see the advertisement posted at
http://me.stanford.edu/research/open_positions.html.
My contact at Stanford told me:
"We are looking for top candidates in this area; they do not necessarily
need to have a mechanical engineering background. I would particularly like
your help in encouraging applications from women and minorities but are, of
course, interested in anyone who would be a good fit. Our committee and
department recognize that star applicants are often recruited early in
their careers, including candidates still in or shortly out of graduate
school. We would very much like to see applications from such individuals.
For candidates early in their career, we will place strong emphasis on a
candidate’s potential and trajectory versus sum total of achievements or
number of publications."
