medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Elina,
The database Biblindex is a very useful tool for finding the biblical quotations in the early christian literature: http://www.biblindex.mom.fr/index.php?lang=en. A quick search on the Cross Database of Brepolis (Numer*+Balaam) provides 60 contexts.
Best,
Eduard

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
Could anyone suggest literature that explores the connections/parallels between Numbers 22:28 (Balaam and his talkative donkey: And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me?.. ) and Acts 9, which details Saul's conversion (Acts 9:4: " And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?") ? Did medieval exegetical tradition have a lot to say about this?
Apologies if this is an obvious question.
Many thanks,
Elina ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: subscribe medieval-religion YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: unsubscribe medieval-religion to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/medieval-religion
