kept catching the hint of rhyme, ie song, throughout.

I used word/line acrostics involving the song titles on the albums
recorded on the dates given. So far it's all jazz...
This piece used just the letters of the phrase, uttered by Monk,
'Coltrane, Coltrane...'.
I find little 'baffles,' as George Bowering calls them, often helps
to allow an open writing...
